Liselotte Munk, Fadata’s CEO, spent a few minutes with insurance leaders today and the one theme that always comes up quickly is AI. The tone is of excitement and curiosity, but naturally there are a lot of questions. What will AI really change? How quickly will AI reshape the industry?
Her view is simple: AI will accelerate changes insurers have been working toward for decades! For years, the insurance industry has talked about digital transformation. The reality of AI is that the next 20 years of change can now be compressed into just a few years.
Impact and shift
When AI is embedded into the core software insurers rely on every day, processes across underwriting, claims and servicing become faster, smarter and more efficient. Operational costs fall. Decision-making speeds up. The entire organisation becomes more responsive.
Then there is the deeper shift, which is about customers. Insurance has always relied on collective data, predominantly large datasets used to model risk across groups. AI will open doors to something far more powerful. With real-time, individual understanding, Insurers will increasingly be able to tailor coverage, pricing and service to the specific policyholder, not just the statistical average. That shift alone could transform how customers experience insurance and achieve the customer loyalty that every insurer continuously strives for.
AI will also change how insurers innovate. Product teams have long had ideas and aspirations for new coverage and services, but long cycles have made bringing them to life laborious, facing bottle necks such as reliance on niche expertise, as well as taking considerable time. With AI-enabled platforms, teams will be able to explore configurations, test feasibility, and move much faster from concept to launch.
The Human Role
As the shift to simpler core platform interactions happens, the human role evolves. The most valuable skills in insurance will increasingly be about understanding the business, engaging customers, and guiding strategic change.
At Fadata, we are marking this as the beginning of a new era. We aspire to deliver an AI-orchestrated insurance platform that helps insurers design, launch and run the insurance of tomorrow. Stay tuned for concrete AI enhancements from Fadata.
