Setup Nano-X

JEVM evaluation package includes two Windows executables located in c:\fadata\jevm\bin folder. One is nano-x.exe - the Nano-X windows server, and nanowm.exe - the Nano-X window manager. These applications use Cygwin X server as a graphics server, so you must have Cygwin installed in order to use JEVM GUI.

Nano-X Running

The nanox.bat file in c:\fadata/jevm/bin folder is used to activate Nano-X windows server. It is recommended to create a desktop shortcut for this file. Edit the file to set CYGWIN_ROOT pointing to your Cygwin installation folder, if the latter is not c:\cygwin. When running the batch file a window labeled Microwindows will appear and a X icon for the Cygwin X server will appear at the taskbar. The Microwindows window is used by JEVM as a GUI screen. Nano-X communicates with its client (JEVM) via sockets.

To close Nano-X first close the window and then the X server by a right click on the X icon on the taskbar.
